senji nayaks

 

The Senji Nayak was established by Tubaki (aka Tupakula) Krishnappa Nayaka. Achyuta Ramabhadra Nayak built the gopuram of Thiruvannamalai temple and Vishnu temple at Tindivanam.
Vengatappa Nayak  was permitted the Jains to construct a Jain temple at Sittamur.

 

During the rule of  Krishna Deva Raya, he ordered, Krishnappa Nayaka to rule a region with Senji as it is capital. During this period build tall and strong fort walls with granite, tall towers with sculptural workmanship granite temples on the plains and brick shrines on the park. This architecture is same as ‘Hampi’ architecture.
